Application Process

 

 

FurBearers Unlimited will consider all grant proposals for research projects.  All proposals are reviewed and prioritized with the most urgent funding awarded to State Agencies, University programs, or other Institutions.

The requesting Organization should provide a written proposal to include:

FBU office staff will acknowledge receipt of proposal and forward to FBU President.  FBU President will review to determine that project is within limits imposed by US Government regarding 501(c) 3 status.  FBU office staff will then assemble "proposal package" comprised of original request,  FBU Treasurer's financial input, and FBU President's acceptability input.  The proposal will be added to the full Board of Director's annual meeting agenda.


 Grants Decided at FBU Annual Meetings

The Board will discuss and vote:  to approve the proposal, approve the proposal with modifications, or reject the proposal. The Board will also determine what amount and when payments will be issued (payments may be in installments over several months). The Board will also determine when and what type follow-up report/s may be requested from Organization. Approval will be by majority of Board members present. 

All organizations submitting proposals will be notified of the outcome following FBU's annual meeting.
