BOARD MEMBER CHANGE
FurBearers Unlimited is proud to announce the addition of two new board members. Matt Lumley of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Dean Bartz of Mason City, Iowa and were appointed at the annual FBU board meeting in Las Vegas on April 4.
Matt Lumley is no stranger to those involved in working on furbearer related issues. In the last ten years, Lumley has compiled an impressive resume of being a strong advocate for the future of sustainable use of furbearing animals. Matt has served as Director at Large on the National Trappers Association Board of Directors since 2002. He has testified before Maryland legislature and was one of the key individuals responsible for defeating the Maryland trap-ban bill in 2004. Matt has assisted with several FBU fundraising banquets and events, and has been a key player in securing private donations to further FBU’s cause. Matt has been serving as Chairman of the recently created FBU Education Committee, and has been instrumental in FBUs evolving new nationwide education programs.
Dean Bartz has been a lifelong trapper, with experience in trapping and managing furbearers in numerous states across the nation. He has been involved for many years in securing donations for FBU. Dean has also been very active in assisting with FBU fundraising banquets and events.
In further Board action, Lumley was voted in unanimously as the new President of FBU
